Kofta in Persian means "meat balls", which are very common in the countries of the Middle East and South Asia, as well as among peoples of Southern Europe.
There are many regional varieties of the kofta preparation. There about 291 recipes in Turkey. In Bengal, for example, they prepare kofta from rice, vegetables and fruit only.
In the Indian restaurant “Talk of the Town” "Malai Kofta" is cottage cheese dumplings with dry fruits served in a traditional creamy sauce "malai", that are recommend to try with naan bread or jeera rice.
